I own the Hood as well and really like the dressing of the separate hood and collar. The longer tail is nice too. I don't end up using it a ton these days mostly because I don't care for the fit through the torso. I'm 6'1" 180lbs and the size large fits everywhere else but is really baggy around the middle for me. I could probably cut out 6-8" of fabric for a better fit for me. I realize not everyone is shaped the same so if the fit works for you it's a solid piece. That said, the material itself isn't some magical fleece, so if you get it, do it for the features, not the material. Lots of cheaper fleece out there.

My wife and I recently made a climashield apex quilt out of 7.5 oz insulation. It was harder that I expected, but I spent about $75 total and am very happy with the result.
