Learn to sew and start making your own modifications and gear…careful though, you may end up with a side gig.

Also, you’ll realize how much everything is marked up within the industry and it’ll make you that much more of a penny pincher.

Oh man. My mother-in-law has pretty nice sewing equipment and did some work for me a while back. Really opened my imagination to what kind of customization I can dream up!

Second this! Wrangler outdoor pants are awesome!
a bunch of this. have 2-3 pairs of pants and 2-3 pairs of shorts i keep in my camping duffle ready to go.
they have some long sleeve tech shirts on amazon that are great as well.

Decathlon has some great (and dirt cheap) backpacking gear. Online only in the US.

I’ve been using their lightweight butane cook set for years. Just as light as a big brand, but cost about $20
Their puffy constantly gets mentioned as being better or same as all the big companies for a fraction of the price
