Charleston, SC—things to do & see?

Backwoods about an hour north of Charleston host the US and Junior US open sporting clays events. They also have a rifle range, but it only went to 300 last time I shot there. Palmetto Gun Club has F Class matches monthly. That about it for the Charleston area. No public long range options in lower part of state that I’m aware of.
The Clinton House in upstate host PRS and DM style matches and their range goes out to a mile.
Most long range opportunities in SC are private ranges.

Clinton House has good sporting clays too.

I’ve thought about building a range and/or an NRL Hunter style shooting course.

There is a really good DMR series I shoot. One day matches are held at the Clinton House, the Sawmill in Laurens, SC and Pigg River in Va. I think we had 80 shooters at the last match. That’s seems to be about the most popular style of match right now. It’s faster paced and less expensive than PRS , and most of the guys I used to shoot 3 gun with have transitioned to that style of shooting. Kind of long range 2 gun. Lots of pistol in addition to the rifle.
