I was waiting and waiting for a USPS package. It showed “delivered” at my address say 12345 134th street ne. I finally contacted the post master whom spoke with the mail carrier. This carrier admitted, “I know the package, I delivered it to 52389 178th Ave SW. I will try to go get it back”. Try.....
Never saw the package. I still see that carrier however.....
now you warn me...lol! I dropped 2 packages off there on Tuesday and tracking shows I still haven't delivered them to post office. Go figure - govt work at its finest!
For us, ups Oakland is usually the weak link. I just worked two days for ups as a seasonal delivery guy in my personal truck. I had to quit at 11pm on the second day. Juggling two phones with software that crashes every ten minutes, trying to find backwards rural address in the dark and rain, backing outof blind driveways and anxious residents wondering whose Chevy just pulled up. Our small community had thousands of packages. It's a shit show, for sure. Lots of respect to the carriers that know your house, work long bullshit hours.
Agreed. System is at max capacity. That said for me UPS is the best. USPS is averaging 6-12 days for 2-3 priority package. I have one that is currently at two weeks and another that appears completely lost now.
I have had a rifle stock sent by a member here to me, and a package from Under Armour "delivered" via FedEX but never arrive. Both time they said the driver made a mistake and to tell the shipper so they would be reimbursed.
USPS rocks here in Morrison, CO however and if something is weird on the tracking, the postmaster will call the same day. Once things hit Denver, I haven't had one take more than one additional day, and they usually hit Denver at 1am and are to me the same day.
Shipped a rifle Friday UPS and it delivered a day early. I feel lucky. I almost told the buyer he was going to have to wait until after the holiday. Shipping is a crap shoot right now.
I have a package that originally showed "in transit to" and then finally "arriving" at our local post office 3 days ago. Now all that tracking info is gone and only says "in transit" from the Denver Distribution Center (which is an hour away).........since Sunday night.
In hundreds of Fedex shipments (both sending and receiving) over the last 30+ years I've never had an issue. UPS is another story, and USPS is a total crap shoot.
It's a crap shoot over the holidays. I'd avoid USPS until the new year if possible.
Sold a muzzle loader to a rokslider in OR a couple weeks ago. I shipped it 3 day priority and it took at least a week to show it had left MN (where I sent it from).
Also had a trailcam i purchased on black friday show up a week later than it was supposed to.
McMillan stock stuck in USPS 'distribution center' since Nov 30th - finally moved but now says 'in route to next destination' for 3-4 days. Opened a case, worked the phones, nothing.
We ship 100's of packages a day between 22 locations - moved our entire business to FedEx (from UPS) and from a cost and reliability standpoint it has been a huge win. USPS is a joke at best - best thing we could do is defund that disaster from the pension fund down.
We've had notice from both FedEx and UPS that next day air doesn't mean next day through the holidays due to internet shopping and covid issues.
