Cat carcass - what would do this?

This morning my sister texted me a picture of her neighbor’s cat that was found dead in her back yard. Whatever killed it made a big clean hole in the cat’s side and ate all the guts but nothing else.

My sister lives in a big residential neighborhood in Central Florida that isn’t very rural. However, a few months ago she sent me a video of a big black bear in her driveway.

She asked me what i thought killed the cat and I told her don’t think a black bear did it, but thought it was the work of a coyote, i figured I’d ask those here if you agree.

A big owl could do it. Even if they cannot carry off the entire animal, an owl will kill it and eat what it can, and then carry off some of it. I had a small hobby farm and lost more chickens to owls than any other critter.

Probably the demon that lived inside escaping since cats are the devil. I hate cats. Apologies to the cat people.

Owls look seriously evil with their normally fluffy heads covered with blood from sticking their head inside a fresh carcass.

great horned owl if in the area. Their nicknames are ' Tigers of the sky." They are killing machines. I have actually witness one with a mink in it's clutches as it tried to fight for its life. Mink are no slouches.
