At risk of reviving an old thread, I just purchased some Canis items after having trouble finding clothes that actually fit in other brands. The Canis sizing for shirts is completely different than other brands (technical and non-technical). I am 6'4" and around 190-195. I bought the Tahr merino half-zip in large, and it was too tight and too short. I exchanged for an XL, and it fits very well. The sizing chart is pretty good; definitely look at the sizing chart before ordering rather than relying on your regular size. For reference, in Sitka, I usually wear a medium tall, although some of the items are too small in that size; large is too short, and large tall often fits like a gown. I have tried First Lite, but the medium is too short and the large is too short and too wide. My best fitting clothes are medium tall from Banana Republic, Old Navy, and Lanky Llama.
The Tahr merino half-zip is very soft and feels similar to First Lite's wick material. I compared them side by side, and I am not sure I would be able to tell the difference with my eyes closed. Same with the Tahr neck gaiter. I do like the zipper on this better than the First Lite wick quarter-zip, and I like the collar. The cordura accents on the shoulders are a nice touch, but I have never had the issues this is designed to prevent with the pack rubbing on my shirt/shoulders. This feels much better than the Sitka polygiene baselayer I am used to wearing (and fits better, but that is subjective), but it will definitely be hotter -- not always a good thing here in Texas.
The chamois fleece liner glove is comfortable, and I like the grip texturing a lot. I hope that the texturing holds up. The mesh back hat is a standard trucker hat; nothing special, but nothing wrong.
I will probably buy a midlayer hoody once they come back in stock.
