Why???a motion sensor alarm system would be an interesting gadget to have around the tent at night
Grizzlies? When camping solo in griz country, I have often wanted something similar. Motion sensor would be lighter than a electric fence. Why???
We get quite a few mountain lions in our area. And while I'm not too worried about it, I've had a black bear rub against my tent. Just to note, no food was near my campground had it about 100 yards awayWhy???
That has been my experience too when I once arranged a rudimentary perimeter alarm with pots and pansI'll bet you that you'd have deer all night waking you up.
You won't get any sleep as every bunny and mouse will set it off.I'm going to do some solo hunts this year and was thinking a motion sensor alarm system would be an interesting gadget to have around the tent at night. I've seen a few on Amazon, has anyone used on before or have any recommendations?
That's pretty funny. Welp glad I askedThat has been my experience too when I once arranged a rudimentary perimeter alarm with pots and pans
Yep, I was about to say the same thing. 550 cord and something noisy to tie to a trip line. Soda can and BBs or something like that. That has been my experience too when I once arranged a rudimentary perimeter alarm with pots and pans
It would suck. It'd suck being woke up with every whitetail, black bear, elk, coyote, fox, ringtail, skunk, mule deer, coati, cottontail, jackrabbit, raccoon, mountain lion, smuggler, cow, etc that walks through camp at night.
Most of our fears are irrational so just hunt harder so you sleep harder.
Boogie manWhy???
It's a 10' long piece of 6" PVC with a couple holes drilled into it and filled with corn and chained to a swivel on the ground on one side. It's fun to have behind camp because they'll beat it to death all night long trickling out a kernel at a time here or there. Birds will sit on it and pick out kernels from the holes but with only a couple holes a flock of 40 grackles have to sit in line and take turns. Coons will smell the corn and try to get after it but they're not strong enough to roll the pipe unless it's close to empty. Point being there's a good bit of critters that visit it, but the driveway alarm only sounds with deer, hogs, and cattle so if used in OP's scenario it shouldn't hit on mice and such.Pig Pipe?
