Cameraland Question

I ordered an Athlon Rangecraft chronograph over two weeks ago from Cameraland in New York. When I called them yesterday to ask about delivery, I was told that they are waiting for a shipment of 200 units from Atlon, but they couldn't tell me when the chrony would be shipped. Those 200 units were all sold and my order MIGHT be one of those. They also said it was noted on their website that the item was not in stock. I don't mind waiting, but it seems like some shady business practice might be going on here. Here's my complaint and question: There is no such notice on the Cameraland website that this product is not available for shipment. If my math is correct, 200 units at $350 each is $70,000. So, it looks like these guys are selling the product BEFORE ordering them from the manufacturer. Has anyone done business with these people? This s my first business with them, and probably my last!

Cameraland is a great shop and have always been helpful on this forum or if you call them up.

Edit to add if you look at any of the threads about the Athlon Chrono most companies are doing the same thing. Taking orders and shipping as they get product in

Your ordered one of the hottest items in the firearm world at the moment. Every retailer and plenty of consumers are trying to put their hands on one.
Just be patient.
Or buy the Garmin unit.

In a 20 second google search, it looks like shipments expected on June 10 from a similar sized seller of these. Probably should check a few things before putting a supporter of this site on blast with your 7th post.

Cameraland is 100% legit. Sometimes items are on back order and you have to wait. Based on your wait time thus far, I waited an exceptionally long time for a $3000.+ scope. Cameraland came through as they always do. They stand behind the products they sell and go above and beyond.

It probably would have taken less time to email them and cancel your order than it did to type out your post.

Mods should delete this post. I'm not sure if CL is a supporter here but this is an idiotic thread and shouldn't be allowed up.

The vendor is in communication and has an amazing reputation. OP is a baby.


Edit to add that I quit being lazy and checked, CL is a supporter. So even doubly so mods shouldn't let cry babies like this idiot claim CameraLand is risking their reputation to steal $70k.

If we removed all threads deemed as from cry babies we would sure have alot less content. I don't see why a sponsor should get any special treatment here. It certainly appears like this is under control.

I personally ordered from another sponsor on here back in 2018 and they completey dropped the ball, it was looked into and they ended up going away. Glad they didn't get any special treatment either.

With one caveat, only when you’ve got at least 30 minutes to kill. Pretty sure 80% of my call time with them has been BS’ing AFTER the sale

Cameraland is GTG. Call and visit with them, they’re nice dudes and usually have good advice RE product quirks or comparables.

As far as pulling this thread. I’m no mod or even anyone who matters, but the posts past the first one are a pretty good testimonial for a business.

I am not looking to delete this thread as a mod but as a 'slide member I will say I have ordered a few items through CameralandNY and I have been very happy with all aspects of my purchases and interactions. I would not hesitate to buy from them again and would happily recommend them to others. Only issue is they don't have the best Southern accent

If you try to make everyone happy you will fail miserably. Have realistic expectations and understand how the real world works and you will be less stressed.

You think the barely veiled accusations in the OP are valid?

Ordered a product with high demand.
Website had a notice that shipping would be delayed.
CL answered their phone and explained what was going on.
OP jumps on a major public forum claiming CL is committing fraud.


That's the gist of this. I don't imagine if this was a personal interaction and you were on the receiving end of this whining you'd take it well. Yeah it's a company instead of an individual, but nothing in the snowflake cry baby OP is a legitimate complaint.

This will probably turn into an overall plus for CL, but the type of loser who doesn't get what they want and immediately runs to the internet to complain and moan really bothers me.

I think this is probably post padding to build up and account to scam someone in the future.

OP Sounds like a troll

CL NY isn't doing anything shady. They probably have a HUGE batch order for units and are preselling them so they don't have $50k in money sitting on the shelf for 6+ months.

Cameraland is A+ in my book
