My bad… it seems like so many people want performance, then get fearful of barrel life.Wasn't concerned about barrel life, if I was I'd have built a different cartridge! Moreso just curiosity lol. I'm liking how this 25 is shooting. May see another in the future.
Thanks, good to hear confirmation that 8 twist 243’s are for real….I’m on the lookout for one.Sure was
It's good that at least one company knows how to twist a 243 WinchesterThanks, good to hear confirmation that 8 twist 243’s are for real….I’m on the lookout for one.
Do you typically find a faster burn rate powder gets better velocities with a shorter barrel or no? IE h1000 vs h4831sc in a prc with a short barrel and 133 or 140s?My bad… it seems like so many people want performance, then get fearful of barrel life.
Anytime your curiosity wants information on short barrel performance, just let me know
These are all specialty pistolsDo you typically find a faster burn rate powder gets better velocities with a shorter barrel or no? IE h1000 vs h4831sc in a prc with a short barrel and 133 or 140s?
Thank you for all that info...I did a quick pressure test with h1000 and h4831sc the other day. To be honest the results puzzled me a bit, I hit pressure really early with h4831sc and just barely had the smallest amount of primer flattening with h1000 at my highest load. What are your thoughts on this? These are all specialty pistols
I typically run H-4831sc in my 6-284 with 103 to 115's
H-4350 in my 6.5-284's with 130's and 140's
H-4350 and H-4831sc in my 284's (162-180)
H-1000 in my 25 PRC, 6.5 WSM (130-140), 7mm SAUM (160 clas bullets), and 7mm WSM (180's)
H-4895, Varget, and CFE223 in my 308's (155, and 168's)
H-!000 in my 7mm RM Imp (180's), 7mm LRH (180), and 7mm Dakota. (175-200)
Also use Retumbo and RL33 in my 7mm Dakota.
RL 33 in my 26 Nosler with 147's
Varget and H-4350 in my 6.5x47 Lapua with 130-140's
22 Creed's and 22GT's (80-90 grain bullets) MRP, H-4350, and Reloader 26
Virgin brass, was wondering if this had something to do...Had the brass been fireformed when you were using H-4831 or was it the first time shooting it/using it?
Yep-That was probably it.Virgin brass, was wondering if this had something to do...
I would give H-4831sc another try with the formed brass for sureWould you rework your pressure test with once fired?
If the fire formed stuff shows promise how would you go about fire forming all the brass?I would
