Model # above applies to a Roughtech Ember. 1/8 for sure. No marks.

****EDIT 04/16/23****

**Was not a 1/8 as previously stated. We used a cleaning rod again and was in fact a 1/10. Apologies for the confusion.**

My Remington 700 I believe is a 9.25 twist, wont stabilize Hornady 90 grain CX copper, had to drop down to 80 gn., If you want to try some mono's in it check out my WTS add. Super bargain on a couple box's.

My 1-10" Tikka .243 has stabilized evey bullet I've tried, from 75 VMAX to 100 gr interlocks. Haven't tried anything heavier. Seems to really like the 90-95gr bullets, especially the 90&95 NBT, 90 eldx, and LOVES 90gr hot Cors.

If you're asking if I measured it then no I haven't, going off of tikkas specs. My goal with the rifle is to maintain a velocity of 1800fps at 600 yards from an 18" barrel for a handy and lightweight setup that can double up as a gun for my kids but will see alot of range time/hunting as well. And also because I don't have a 6mm and I wanted one. It will eventually be rebarreled in 6cm most likely or a fast twist 243.
I would rebarrel it or find a newer one that has a 8T (If you can), then sell the rifle with the slow twist barrel.
Then, you can shoot the bullets you want, and not be handicapped.

I have a 15” 25-284, and I have not shot yet.
Great cartridge!

I use rifle scopes on almost all of my specialty pistols.
It is a rear grip, Kauger Arms, single shot action, switch barrel and switch bolt head specialty pistol.
25-284 and 25 PRC
I will get it going probably after WYSHOT.

What was your thoughts on prc vs 284 as parent cartridge
The PRC case whether in 25 or 6.5...is going outrun the 284 Winchester case in 25 or 6.5, just as my 6.5-06 out runs the 6.5-284 in 18" barrels-Case Capacity matters.
It all comes down to preference, and now a factor is whether or not I can get quality brass.
I don't think you can go wrong with either. I do have a 25 PRC center-grip XP with an 18" barrel, and with the 131's (3168 fps-I am going backing off that load) it shoots great, even after a quick load development.
Shooting off this deck prone.

That's cruising! Faster than what I wanted/needed for my purposes. I'm getting 2950 out of 21" 284 with 133s. I was hoping for 2900 so I'm pleased!

Any prior experience on the usable barrel life? Either prc or 284?

284 Winchester family of cartridges will have a longer throat life...All things being as equal as possible, compared to the PRC family of cartridges.
I wouldn't worry about it-Just go shoot and hunt and have fun.
Barrels are perishable item.
I have had 6mm-284's, 6.5-284's, and the 284 Winchester chambered in XP's for a long time now. I cooked all three of my first ones years ago. I don't keep track of rounds. I have used all three of them for LR and short range pd'ing (Especially the 6 and 6.5).

Wasn't concerned about barrel life, if I was I'd have built a different cartridge! Moreso just curiosity lol. I'm liking how this 25 is shooting. May see another in the future.
