New to the site, lots of great info here. Just want to thank everyone that is sharing their hunting knowledge with the world.
As for Ca? this state has a lot to offer, whether, hunting, fishing or all the technology that most of us are typing on, Ca can stand on it's own.
I'm hoping to get out and stack some meat in the freezer this season, haven't hunted since 2011, been bringing up a couple of kids.
Hunting, fishing and the outdoor life has been a tradition in my family, handed down for generations, with my boys getting close to "of hunting age", I get to pass the hunting phase to them as well.
Looking forward to hunting...well, anything I can draw in this state.
Thanks again to all the great people that contribute,
Mark.

what part of CA bud?

i'm in sonoma area..and welcome. i have no kids, so i get to run around and basically go feral 1/5th of the year..lots of hunting in CA..almost too much.

I figured there was a bunch of California hunters here, just a quiet bunch. Gonna be an all time year here, water everywhere and more on the way, with winter just beginning!

that's why i'm headed to AZ in a few days..screw this rain..

Not from California originally but currently live in Alameda, CA. I have had some of my most rewarding hunts hunting in this state. Welcome and if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. It is a good group of people on this site.

Welcome brother. Santa Cruz is really nice country for sure. I hail from Tracy and have seen a lot of changes in growth and the hunting we had locally is just a memory. I am planning on trying out Lake Sonoma for some pig hunting in a few weeks. I have never been their so if anyone has knowledge of where a good camp spot is located other than the Liberty campground I would appreciate some info. I was thinking the North end may be better as Liberty appears to be in the no hunting zone based on the one map I could find.

Welcome. I'm currently transplanted in San Jose for work. I get down to Santa Cruz quite a bit for photos and stuff.

Connections are the best for information, lots of people have family with property or access to property. California is a tough place to find pigs, but just yesterday, a friend of mine was explaining how the pigs are tearing up their orchard, all this happening less than 5 miles from my house, Gonna go sit under a tree next week.

Welcome to the site qwerksc, I'm up in El Dorado County.

If you have a boat there are a bunch more campsites at Lake Sonoma you can boat into. I just talked to the visitor center and they said the rd is still closed. I need to get my boat ready and sneak over there for a few days soon.

Braved the torrential down poor and got up there. Ton of sign no pigs to be seen. Lot of deer though

Thanks for the update. That was a down pour for sure this weekend. I am hoping to get up their for my first time in a couple of weeks. Looks like i'll be staying at Liberty camp ground and parking off the road to glass and spot and stalk.
