I have the 270 and really enjoy it; however, the 6.5 PRC has similar performance in short action rifles.

Neither is the wrong answer.

If you like BrowningWinchester short action rifles, the 6.8 Western would be worth considering.

You said 600 but more likely 400. Run the numbers with best performing grain bullet in all of them and you have your answer.

The 270 and the 6.5 PRC are close but the PRC wins.

I have a pair of rifles. One in 300 RUM and the other in 6.5 PRC. It is a joy to shoot.
