I'm a Predator fan myself but they don't offer their patterns in any decent materials, I haven't found them anyway. I'm trying to get my clothing system together for my Sept 2015 bowhunt in CO. I plan on using merino baselayers of some type and I'm thinking about going with the Cabelas Microtex pants. Mainly looking at the Microtex to save a little money but I've read great things about it as well, that is if I like the somewhat baggy fit. I'll probably go with First Lite top layers and I already have their puffy. Anyway, being that I like Predator/open camo patterns, the Cabelas Outfitter pattern piqued my interest but something about it doesn't look right to me. It almost looks too bright. Anyone have experience with this pattern? I'm trying to decide between it and the Cabelas Zonz woodlands camo. Picture below for reference. This will also see a lot of use in Virginia during spring turkey and fall/winter deer seasons.

I like the outfitter camo myself. As far as it concealing you from game better, it really doesnt matter and is just a personal choice in the end.

I personally like the pattern. I only wish other clothing companies could use it. I have this pattern in microtex, wooltimate, and a primaloft jacket. It seems a little more mellow in the wooltimate but I believe it's just because of the fabric itself. I like it because it's not as busy as most patterns available. In my opinion, it breaks up better than most commercial patterns do at a distance.

Truthfully if you wanna save some cash the Eddie Bauer guide pants are way better fit, yeah not camo. The microtex were too baggy for my liking. You could get a Kryptek or FL top to offset the solid color of the pant if you wanted.

Funny you mention the EB guide pants, I just picked up a pair a couple weeks back when they were on sale for about $50. I only tried them on to make sure they fit (which they did) but I can see why everyone raves about these. Do many people wear these as their hunting pants? Not sure of your build but I'm about 185 at 6'0...still think the Microtex would be too baggy? I heard the crotch sat kinda low but thought they might fit me better since I am 6'.

Thanks guys!

The microtex clothing is great if it fits you well. I never could make them work - either it too loose in the waist or too tight in the knee. But the material adn camo are great, and a very good value to boot.

I used solid Kuiu at racks for a few years, only reason I don't now is because I got my kryptek pant so cheap last year during their 50% sale and from the cabelas bargain cave. So I haven't used the EB as my hunting pant but have used solids many times. If they fit you well then no reason you can't use them. I'm similar in size, add 15lbs and the microtechnology just felt like baggy cargo pants.

Agree. They are great pants if they fit you right. Not as "technical" as the EB Guides, Attacks etc...but would serve you well in the early season. I also like the camo. I've hunted early season in the Attacks, Microtex and Sitka Ascents and they are all good.

I still think the Outfitter camo is the best thing made! I have always loved it.

Been using the microtex fior years, but just picked up two pair of the EB guide pants and they fit great.
The EB will get a workout over the next couple of months doing photography work.
I really like the Outfitter camo and have it in the microtex as well as some wooltimate.

So I forgot to mention that I have Wooltimate in outfitter camo. Looking at the website though, it looks like the Microtex outfitter camo looks different. Not that it would make a difference I guess. Looks better on the Wooltimate.

You have it in the outfitter brown, there are two color options with the outfitter camo or there used to be. Not sure if the outfitter brown is still available.

I have the Microtex pants in Outfitter camo and i love the stuff. The pattern breaks up very well at a distance in a variety of terrain. They're extremely quiet, tough as nails, wind resistant, dry quickly and can be worn in a very wide range of temperatures. They are a little baggy but i'm a skinny dude, 6'5"/205. I also have a pair of the EB Guide Pants and they are the most comfortable pants i've ever worn but I haven't hunted in them, I've just worn them casually. They seem very well made but I doubt they would hold up as well as my Microtex for they type of hunting I do.

I have two pairs of cabelas microtex pants that have been to hell and back, I mean that sincerely. They are unreal tough. I read some of the reviews about a hole here or there on sitka, kuiu, and wonder how. I think I've had these same two pair of pants for what seems to be 10 years. Still going strong! I only wish the made them in non-camo. My build is 6'2" 185-190, They are a no frills pants, but they are a great value. Cons would be they are burr magnets.

I love my microtex pants. They are extremely comfortable and the tall size is one of only two styles of camo pants I can find that are long enough for my 6'3" 250# chunk of flesh. The others are a pair of Columbia pants. I love them also. I would like to get a pair of the insulated microtex pants.
