Just curious if anyone has cut the floor out of an Outback Lodge and/or added a stove jack to one? I would think that would be a pretty sweet basecamp or an ATV/horse packed spike camp at a great price point. Seems like Cabela's did one thing right in their newest model by adding an awning, and I would think a stove jack and the floor being gone would make it even better.

I agree. We have one (my buddy has one that we've used...once) and it just had too much condensation. It's basically an enclosed single wall shelter. My first thought was to cut the floor out too but we've just never really used it much. I'd be interested in what you end up doing. I also agree that something over the door would be nice.

I don't have one, I just saw the new model yesterday. I almost bought one before I bought my Kodiak.

The new model has an awning over the door like the Alaknaks. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to cut that floor out though. Then just have someone sew the edges or run some tear mender type stuff over it to keep it from running.

I had an older model Outback and it's one of the few things I ever returned to Cabelas. Leaked so bad it was like being in a shower when it rained!
