Just an update here that things arent looking to good for the feds:

As I and others have been saying all along it was a MILITARISTIC RAID:

An investigation into the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) handling of the 2014 Nevada standoff with rancher Cliven Bundy revealed “incredible bias,” widespread misconduct and likely illegal actions by the BLM. Wooten’s 18-page report discussed some of what he witnessed during his three-year investigation, such as a BLM agent’s “kill list” featuring people who had committed suicide while under investigation by the agency, BLM agents and officials referring to the Bundys as “retards” and “douche bags,” agents bragging about “grinding” a Bundy family member’s face into gravel, and lead prosecutor and Nevada’s acting U.S. Attorney Steve Myhre’s “preferred ignorance” of investigation details that would benefit the Bundys’ defense case.

REPORT: Rancher Target Of Aggressive Raid | The Daily Caller

And the kicker:

DOJ Opens Probe Into Bundy Prosecutors Who Hid Evidence

DOJ Opens Probe Into Bundy Prosecutors | The Daily Caller

So it looks like there will be more federal agents going to prison than the ones they tried to convict...LOL. Some of us remember a thread on here when this first kicked off and those of us on the side of the Bundys were scoffed at then too...

the dailycaller? I would surely think any news agency worth it's salt would cover a story that implicates numerous federal agents in illegal activity.

let me know when these agents are indicted and convicted- probably shouldn't be holding my breathe

Just want to make sure I'm clear but you do support a rancher not paying to graze on public land?

From things I can gather it seems the Bundy family first purchased their land in 1948, which is after the Taylor grazing act of 1934 which regulates grazing on public lands and first obtained a BLM permit in the 1950's.

The only problems I can find with the situation is that his cows either weren't rounded up much sooner and/or that they didn't finish rounding them up in 2014.

the Daily Caller. .....That publication was Tucker Carlson's brain child and with Tucker's political acumen the article is probably spot on. Tucker left in '16 to do his show on Fox...
I noticed Salon dissed DC by saying they are 'descending into right wing extremism.' That tells me that the DC is probably a fantastic site.
Salon are a bunch of rancid, socialist anti-Trump termites.

If you're looking for political honestly with the mainstream press you are wasting your time. I read an article today about Andrew McCabe, crooked FBI #2 agent....the article all but said he was a saint, the GOP and Trump are "attacking him"....it would be funny if not so ridiculous.

Facing Republican attacks, FBI’s deputy director plans to retire early next year

One thing should be clear to all here: the Feds aren't always on your side as a hunter, outdoorsman, sportsman.
I'd go as far as saying that they are almost always the enemy. (note that I stated almost.) They, the National Park Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service, the EPA...they have all accrued immense power and it's about time that 'we the people' reclaim those agencies as our own--they are ours! The DOJ and FBI corruption scenarios that are so prevalent in the news right now only further underscore my point here.
Whatever some of you guys think of Trump, he is cleaning up some of the mess with some of these agencies. The EPA had a huge walkout recently. Good riddance! The agency has/had merit, but has been off the rails for a long, long time.

I'd also classify the Bundy's as firmly in the 'redneck' category, folks that think they are better than they really are.
I know people here locally like them. They feel that their seniority on a land makes them omnipotent and free of laws that most of us would peacefully accept and abide by.
That’s very reasonable to me. The Feds are almost always the bad guys. Totally agree!!!

The last vestige of a lost debate - attack the messenger and not the message...they are only reporting on an internal BLM report...when it happens I will be looking for lil boy blue :)

Merry Christmas Ya'll!!

I dont support a BLM that clearly doesnt want the grazing fees, they want Bundy gone just like they ran the other 50 ranchers out of the area over the years and I do support someones right to protest even if that protest is the withholding of fees.

I dont see anyone asking for Black Lives matter for fees to rebuild Ferguson or any other town that they destroyed and burned during their protests or the limousine liberals that burnt down Berkeley over a speech. Or Antifa when they destroy private property.

What's the difference between the mob and the government in this case? Because one wears a uniform we are supposed to bow down and kiss the ring?

Collecting debts at the barrel of a gun whether its public or private is still a gang related activity.

Like I have said all along - it should have been handled by the local sherriff. We arent supposed to have a national police force enforcing the law on private citizens especially not in the militaristic way that it was done (which was the precursor to everyone going out to the Bundy Ranch).

Wow I hope Im never on trial with a bunch of you on the jury. In this day and age with all the fake news and stories on the internet ( which must be true because it was on the internet ) its impossible to know what the truth is.

Very moving opening statement! Most of us in this country don’t have the ability to understand what is being imposed...if that info about his family being on the land for 140+ years I’d say they have a bit of a right to be there...

Seriously? You don't see diligence and intellectual honesty here? You must be reading an entirely different thread. The fact is, most of us here have very little trust of the internet or the media! We research with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Great link! Shows who the Bundy's really are; freeloaders, lawbreakers, people who think they are entitled to what they want weather they deserve it or not.
I cant believe people defend them like they are all innocent of any wrongdoing.

Pretty much the conclusion drawn by any reasonable adult.
Pay your bills, dont mooch, and don't repeatedly reach into your jacket when told not to by cops with guns, and life kinda rolls right along.

Case Dismissed No Retrial

Judge Dismisses Federal Case Against Cliven Bundy And Sons, Bars Retrial : The Two-Way : NPR

"Navarro found that the prosecution had committed "flagrant misconduct" by withholding evidence that could have supported the defendants' case. Namely, Navarro explained that federal prosecutors had failed to disclose information from cameras recording video from the standoff and the presence of federal snipers around the Bundy Ranch."

Game. Set. Match.
