Budgety threaded 22?

I have around 500 rounds through that one and over 1k through a Winchester Wildcat and I like them more every time I use them. Can use 10/22 magazines on both models and they just shoot good. Best buy of the year so far. Need to shoot my Ruger American 22CM more to see if it over comes the little 22lr Winchester rifles I got for the best of 2025. I might get another Xpert in 17 Winchester Super Magnum for a suppressed NV short range gun.

Those winchesters are good guns. My friend has one and it’s pretty nice, he has the semi auto one. It has a threaded barrel, built in rail and takes 10/22 magazines.

Yep, that is the semi-auto one I have. I have a green dot on it and the family (wife's extended family) shot about 500 rounds through it at the "Shoot out at the Ranch" we hold over 4th of July. Even my 5 year old nephew who was born with malformed lenses in his eyes and had the lenses removed could bang steel with it accurately. He lives life in 2D and can only focus in one plane. The green dot worked for him as it just over laid on the target instead of lining up crosshairs.

Fun facts, that 22 Wildcat can be taken down and cleaned with the push of 1 button and has tools to completely take it apart inside the trigger group that you remove when you take it down.

From what I've seen, they aren't very ammo picky. Shot a bunch of old 22lr ammo that was dirty from riding around in my truck for 10 years without a hiccup.

Maybe it’s just me but it seems like 22s and ammo have improved over the years since I was a kid. I remember having lots of FTFs and guns we’re super picky. Now I have several rifles and pistols of different makes and models that don’t seem all that picky, sure if you are precision shooting for the smallest possible groups, you may need that expensive eley or lapua ammo but most of the guns I have now feed everything well enough for plinking and small game hunting.

Of course I don’t have any of those cheap pot metal replica type things like Walthers or sigs or off brand 1911 looking things that aren’t actually made by the companies they are sold by.

those winchesters can be had for under 300 bucks and they eat everything, built in rails, threaded barrels and 10/22 magazines make them a heck of a bargain.

I’ll agree about the 22’s and ammo.
Way better than it used to be.
