"DADDY"
We liked it, still do, might get one. I brought ght some 700fps, some 1000fps and some 1200fps ammo. The 1200fps in the pistol sounded similar between the Huxwrx and OCL when shot as being the only ammo loaded in the mag. @huntsman22 had the idea to load the mags with a few of the 1000fps then a few of the 1200fps. Only in hearing the 1k shots immediately followed by the 1200 could we notice that the Hux did a little better. We could distinguish the 1200 shots from the 1k with the OCL, but still very very quiet.Did you think the otter creek was bad? Or did you just like the other a bit more? Between me and my friends I’ve been able to shoot around 20 different rimfire cans and I actually shout the otter creek was pretty nice.
I also think that we were picking out porch/tone rather than volume. The Dead Air was quiet but seemed more snappy and the sound drawn out. The TBAC was quiet but twangy. The sparrow had FRP which while not scary or anything, was distinct and noticeable. All started on the pistol, then we whittled down to the Hux and OCL.
On the rifle we all picked out the Huxwrx, again probably tone and not volume. The kid picked the Hux definitely, even though he said on the way home the fde color was "lame".
I'd be happy with an OCL; I need to think through if there's any durability/maintenance/wild card concerns with the sealed design of the Hux.
