Got the long anticipated call today that our taxidermist was finished with my goat from our 2012 Kodiak hunt! For those of you that saw our episodes on AK Outdoors Television, this is the nanny I took on that trip--the goat that broke my "Kodiak curse" :) I couldn't be happier with how she turned out, the hide tanned beautifully and our taxi did an amazing job at making her look alive and so curious. Looking forward to hanging her next to Luke's Big Billy goat (rugged) she should make a nice girlfriend for him :)

Up close...the picture underneath is titled "Faith", and was a gift to Luke from his parents last year...

I like how it seems the goats have "locked eyes". I'm sure they will enjoy each others company ;)

On a serious note, nice nanny!! I hope one day I am fortunate enough to take such a beautiful animal.

I love that print, my buddy has it on his wall as well!

Oh and nice mount!

I love the rug idea too, never seen a goat rug until I saw Lukes on a past thread!

Hopefully there are a few goats left on Kodiak :)

Thanks guys! So thrilled with how "goat corner" of the living room has turned out, since goats are by far the toughest animal I have ever hunted it makes me happy to be able to display them where I can see them everyday.

We saw a goat rug years ago, and it seemed like the right choice when Luke got his billy in '09. They do take up a lot of wall space though if you get a big one, and the horns can be a real hazard if there is any chance folks could walk into it (which was an issue at our previous house, due to space constraints and where we had it hung up). Having it hung over the banister is working out a lot better, and shows off the rug while still highlighting the horns.

As far as the shoulder mount, our taxidermist explained to us that there aren't very many choices as far as forms go. Apparently the majority of forms are short, and stop just behind the neck (no legs or shoulders!)--he had to custom lengthen this form substantially to get the amount of chest and shoulder. I am so glad he did, the hide on an October goat is as much trophy as the horns in my opinion, and the longer form excentuates it better.

We left at least a few Kodiak goats for ya Nick :)

Great looking goats! I like the print too, my brother had that one on his wall for a long time. My buddy has a nice November rugged billy it is a great way to showcase the animal but does take up a lot of space.
