Concerned that I have corrosion issues where breech plug meets barrel. I’ve always taken considerable care when cleaning. Any suggestions from here? This is a 50cal Knight Ultralight, 6 years old with no more than 10 rounds/year. I use 777, with musket caps as I’m in the west.

Looks good to me!

If you are talking about the barrel not being circular near the areas of the red arrows (sorry picture got distorted), those are the barrel riflings.

Not sure if this will help or not... but passing this on. I think I see what you are indicating in your picture. The corrosion that I am looking at is really nil and appears to be rust dots.

When I clean the BP port I use this tool.

It is a 16 gauge shotgun fiber brush on a piece of ram rod. I think it is important to have the brush turning CCW. I spray Birchwood/Casey 2 in 1 bore scrubber on the brush. It will remove any carbon deposits and it leave a small amount of lubrication in the BP port. I believe it will also remove those small spots you are seeing.
