Breaking Bad vs The Sopranos

First season of True Detective. Doesn't get much better than that. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson killed.

Lost has always toggled between #1 and #2 GOAT for me. Ive seen lost with my wife from the beginning multiple times. I understand why many people didn't like it, especially the end, but after you watch it a few times (huge commitment) There aren't actually many unanswered or unexplained things in the show. It's all there, it's just very deep.

Great series except for the very last episode. Locke, Sawyer, Mr. Echo.....I wanted Ben to die so bad! Some great characters.

a series that probably made me laugh the hardest was Entourage. I dont think it will ever be mentioned in the same breath as BB or Sopranos but damn Ari Gold made that show. It was damn funny.

BB and BCS both awesome shows with fascinating characters, often doing the best they can in the impossible quandaries they repeatedly create for themselves.

The Expanse was a fun watch, much of it for the imaginatively detailed future world in space. Fallout has been fun so far with its wacky and inventive dystopian vibe. The Komisky Method has surprised me… Hollywood making fun of itself. The two main characters are kind of dicks, but somehow they grow on you.

My fave of all time…. Big Bang Theory. That’s today. Might have an entirely different thought about tomorrow.

I got into the Expanse as well and just finished season 2 of Fallout which is good enough. The Big Bang Theory was a good comedy. My favorite comedy in that class is How I Met Your Mother. Only series I have watched twice.

The sopranos paved the way for all the other crime drama type shows that came after. Its success and franchise loyalty 20 odd years later is almost unmatched. As someone else mentioned, it was made in a different era to the likes of breaking bad, SOA etc.

I couldn't finish breaking bad, it was boring and predictable. So was sons of anarchy amd ozark.
I also struggled with Yellowstone at first because to my mind it was basically just SOA on horses.

One of the best more recent crime series was Power and Power force. Epic franchise.

I've watched Breaking bad probably 4 times and the sopranos once so I'm definitely biased, but I just love the cinematography in breaking bad. They do such a good job showing stress, etc. to the viewer.

I enjoyed BB & the Sopranos, I'd put both in my top 5, easily.

But I had to vote for 'other'

Simply because of Downton Abbey. In my opinion, it's the reason TV was invented. Hands down THE single best thing to be shown on the small screen & it would take something like an act of God to change my opinion.

Dexter was top notch. I thought season 4 was great. John lithgow was a great serial killer. Season 8 for me was hard to watch. The doctor lady was infuriating and boring.

The end of season 4 broke my heart lol. I gave up watching twice after that last episode, just couldn't keep going. John Lithgow was incredible.

I dont remember what season it was we stopped watching but it was the one where he meets the girl in the green house who's also a serial killer. Really turned for the worst and we gave up on it.

I watched both religiously. I thought Sopranos was/would be the standard. Then I read a lot of comments on here. Valid. BB was awesome. I’m so confused. Both held my attention. Seemed like BB went about a season too long.? Regardless. I wish more tv was similar instead of the 10 episode wait a year and a half dramas. Mayor of Kingstown comes to mind. Lots of good shows but these 7-10 episodes per year suck if you’re a viewer.

I thought the writers really blew the scene in BB when WW admitted he liked it. I expected him to say something along the lines of “for the first time in my life I had no fear. I was the cause of fear (remember I am the one who knocks?) and I liked it. I took the risks that the coward Walter never would have taken and I reveled in it. And for the first time in my life I was the master.”
