Picked up some Nosler brass, what is expected life if running moderate loads and staying off max? I’ll be inspecting every time but just curious what I could expect on low and high end.
I’ve got some Peterson brass 7 RM that’s on their 6-7th firing with only one aneal and looking strong still. Shoot ‘em til they split?!Dependent on caliber. Something like 308, 30-06 I don’t see why you couldn’t get 10+ loadings. Bump shoulda back minimally and anneal a few times and you may get quite a bit of life out of them.
A belted magnum you might get 5 or so. With the belted stuff you gotta watch out for the separation at the belt.
I’m never overly concerned with a split neck. Case head separation is much different and much more common with belted cases. They’ll stretch and separate just above the belt.I’ve got some Peterson brass 7 RM that’s on their 6-7th firing with only one aneal and looking strong still. Shoot ‘em til they split?!

Correct. But you still run the possibility of the area just above the belt getting way out of spec and eventually it won’t fit in the gun, therefore you have to bump it all down. They do make a die just for that, but it’s slipped my mind who makes it. Maybe Wilson? After the first couple of firings if you are properly bumping the shoulder only .002-.003” it will headspace on the shoulder just like any other case.
