A big tarpon on a fly has always been at the very top of my bucket list...too much Walkers Cay Chronicles as a kid

Was able to do it on my second trip. Mid July out of St. Pete. Took over 2 hours to land it and it kicked my a$$! Would love to catch one on the flats now but also have a sailfish and permit moved up to the top of the list ahead of that now.

A few fish from a couple of 7-9 day western Alaska remote pack-raft floats...rainbows, Dolly Varden trout, and silver salmon. Not pictured are Arctic Grayling and some sockeye salmon (reds)...there was one stretch on the river that was a continuous line of reds for 10 miles! The fishing was fantastic!
