Great buck!!Yup!
Blaser R8 Professional Success 30-06 (purchased in Germany)
It has never let me down and shoot sub-1/2MOA with Hornady Precision Hunter 178 ELD-X.
My biggest gun regret is selling my 375H&H Blaser (also bought in Germany).

$700. Was it made of gold?? You can buy them brand new for right at $350. If you know where to look you can also find rail systems for them.Just about bought an R8 but the $700 scope mount kept me from pulling the trigger
K95 will be next blaser purchas.K95 8x57R
Z6 1.7-10x42
My number one rifle for putting meat on the table and back pack hunts.
Seeing your gloves made me chuckle; I use the same.
Agreed, the weight of the R8 should be reduced... for less than a price tag of $8000+ for their R8 Carbon Success. My only complaint is the weight, and even then it’s very manageable.
Be sure to work with a gunsmith that knows Blasers. The barrels are very hard compared to what gunsmiths usually see. I looked into having mine done and it was cost prohibitive (for me).I’m thinking about picking up a used .308 R8 for suppressed hunting. I can get the barrel cut to 16” and rethread to5/8x24. With the blaser action this should be one short gun for my 9” sig srd7.62ti suppressor. I really want a thumbhole stock though, but am unwilling to pay the $3700 they want for it new. We will see, I’m also looking at the new S20

Keep in mind that while threading 5/8 on the standard profile barrel is possible, it's not advised. You won't be left with much shoulder for your suppressor. I had to go with 9/16. J Sip & Sons will thread a Blaser, as will Precision Barrel Work.I’m thinking about picking up a used .308 R8 for suppressed hunting. I can get the barrel cut to 16” and rethread to5/8x24. Who did your custom barrel?I do a bit of traveling to hunt and I love my R8s. I have 100% confidence I can take my Blaser completely apart and back together, including the scope and it will shoot exactly where it is supposed to. I am sure of that because I have taken the time a number of times to do just that with every barrel and stock configuration I have...for each shot of a 5 shot group. It is amazing to take the scope off, take the rifle completely apart and put everything back together on every shot and shoot a sub 1” group. I have factory .243, 300 WM, and 375 H&H. I also have a custom 264 Winchester Mag barrel that I use most of the time. I have a wood Jaeger and my workhorse has a custom carbon fiber stock
week I’m planning on picking up the 22 Rimfire barrel.
They are very addicting. I’d like to find an R93 as a project rifle and I’m not quite sure I want to step into the K95 arena!
Great trigger, great accuracy, great handling, and incredible versatility!

I’ve got the heavy Pelican case that comes with most R8s in storage maybe for an Africa trip someday and usually toss everything in this Americase and into my duffle for flights.
Love my Blasers.
Steve O,
What are the non Blaser mounts in one of those pics? How did they compare?
