Anybody ever thought of putting 6UM in an R8?

I have a barrel ordered with UM based off Bear 8 barrel extension. Just waiting on stock to get finished

I have been wanting to try a custom barrel from J.Sipp and Sons. Just have heard differing opinions. The only other European barrel manufacturer apparently isn’t making barrels for them anymore. Could be dated knowledge. I just had a 22LR and 6.5 PRC barrel chopped to 18” and had LRI do the work. So far great results. Also a very quick turn around. If anyone knows someone they would recommend I’d be happy to go in on a group buy.

Also Blaser USA told me last week their 300 PRC barrels should be at their dealer networks any day now.

is it just a magnum bolt face? What insert would you use? Because I’d then I’d have an idea of what the ask EB to spin up.

Good to hear that, but what's holding many of back is the lack of smaller caliber offerings in modern barrel twists.

No I totally agree. If they had a 6 creed I’d be ecstatic. They do have 243 but I don’t know if one can ream it out easily. I will be ordering a 223 barrel soon.

Can't speak to Blaser chamber details, but SAAMI specs indicate roughly 4mm of setback would be required to rechamber a .243 Winchester in 6mm Creedmoor.

Turns out the one piece stock is not the way to go.

The Jäger 2-piece stock seems to be the way.

I may end up sending in my Jäger.

I recently got a R8 Success Ultimate (it was a great deal), but would like a more traditional stock as opposed to the thumbhole stock. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be many custom stock makers - and none in NA - for the Jäger variant.

Well if you switch to the Jäeger let us know... I'd be interested to know if a custom stock can be made for it.

Otherwise, I'll just have to pick up the Professional 2.0 stock when it comes to Canada.
