Blaser R8 in a Rokstok survey

Would you commit to buying a Rokstok for your Blaser R8 Professional?

I would love to- when stocks are getting delivered consistently, I will push for an option. However, the issue with the R8 is which version?

Also, there’s going to be some modification to make it work with the Blaser- Bjorn is the test case.

I'd like to put in a vote for R8 Professionals...the higher grades, people probably want to showcase their sideplates. Wonder if it would be possible to get some data on R8 sales...probably a lot more of the lower grade working guns being sold than the ones with sideplates.

I assumed the same logic.

Ahh…sorry, I misunderstood the stock in question.

Yes, I have the last cf stock made from that individual. I’ve shot that stock with 6XC in the two Cold Bore challenges

I wonder if he tells everyone that. I took delivery of mine in early November 2024. The barrel wasn’t floated once torqued, so the forend/ receiver aren’t square, but after 15 months I wasn’t sending it back. What do you think of the trigger reach? That is my only complaint other than the forend.

I got mine directly from the stock maker who indicated that was the last one he was making. I don’t know if he started making them again for a short while or not.

I don’t have any issues with trigger reach

Just watched a video of a guy reviewing one of the Carbonix Hunttech stocks. Just as a general reference, he got weights of the following configurations with the receiver installed.
- Professional Success (thumbhole) - 1519g or 53.6oz
- Professional (standard) - 1426g or 50.3oz
- Carbonomix HuntTech - 1061g or 37.5oz

They use a KalixTeknik CR2 adjustable cheek riser to help get around the bolt assembly.

They also built it on the standard Professional as opposed to the Success with the thumbhole. I assume so that they could reduce the trigger distance.

Makes sense that if someone is going to just rip the receiver out of a Blaser stock to put it in a Rokstok, they might as well do it to the cheapest version which is the standard Professional. The only difference of concern between the standard Professional and Professional Success is the trigger assembly.
