Back in November 2021 Black Rifle provided myself and other Rokslide writers with some of their coffee to try out. The products they have provided are as follows:

Mission Fuel Variety Pack

Coffee Steep Bags

BRCC Instant Coffee singles

Ready-to-Drink cans

They are also going to be sending some ready to drink options that we'll assess when they arrive.

My experience:

The quality of the coffee is just as good as most fresh ground coffee house brews I have tasted. My personal favorite has been the AK espresso blend, which has a rich dark taste as you'd expect of espresso blends.

The instant packs are surprisingly good for instant coffee. Being the addict I am, I've even used them in cold water in a pinch to stave off headaches. It takes two to make a cup sufficiently strong for my taste but that's not unusual. These do nicely in the mountains.

If you have any questions lets us know.

I use their ground coffee daily in a reusable k cup (blackbeards delight usually) and really like their instant stuff in the mountains. I’ve used Starbucks via which isn’t bad either…but I know which company I’d rather support. How many ounces of water are you using when doubling up instant packets?

I’ve tried the steeping bags too, good coffee just not dark or strong enough for my liking.

agreed, but I do like them better than Starbuck's instants given the choice

I just got these in yesterday and had a chance to try them today. I am pleasantly surprised. Typically I don't like pre-made canned coffee drinks, as they tend to be overly sweet and thick. I'm also not usually a fan of mocha. These taste like no canned coffee I've ever tasted before. They are much closer to a homeade or coffee shop cold brew with mocha flavoring. They are not too sweet and are not at all thick. I do wish they had less carbs, but as long as I am not counting carbs that's really not an issue. My wife liked them as well and she hates pre-made coffee. My seven year old daughter chugged half my can and tried to run off with the rest. Overall I'd say they're a winner.

A review as promised. Made these steeping bags of black rifle at base camp! They are very good with about 8-10 oz of water, anything more than that it is a weak cup of coffee. I thought it was a very balanced cup of coffee and didn’t have that “instant” coffee taste. I will be purchasing again. Just boil water and let sit for 2-3 mins ! Good to drink !

1) as a strong coffee drinker, I either need to only use 5oz or less of water:single bag, which isn’t enough coffee for this addict, so I usually i just run 10 ozs: 2 bags for a good strong flavor, and enough brew to get me out of camp

2) not bitter, even brewed strong

3) only thing I don’t like is dealing with leftover bags, but they do burn fine when dry.

So I typically use them at a road camp and run the instants for backcountry

I was happy when my local Wally World and some gas stations in my AO started carrying the BRCC ready to drink cans. unfortunately, it was available for a while but not for the last few months (Walmart removed the labels from the shelf space after a couple of months of showing empty so I presume it ain’t coming back soon).

I also got these to try. I'm not really sure what thae difference is other than size, less caffeine, and higher carbs. The one I've tried so far was a fair bit more bitter than than larger one, but it also had some of the ingredients clumped in it so it may have just been a fluke that wasn't mixed well. I'll update when I try more.
