Friends (including an opera regular) own and like them. My personal experience was brief, but pleasant -- in unchallenging conditions.

FOV is about the same as the Gen2 Viper HD 8x42s, very comfortable to hand hold. 2x less magnification, but for roughly 1/8th of the cost...
