I have only limited experience with the Zen-Rays, a friend of mine has them. That said I own some Vortex Viper HDs and am very impressed with them for the money.

It make a difference in where/how you hunt.

I hunt some pretty rough and big country in arizona. So for me coues deer are the base line. I need to be able to glass a coues buck bedded inside a bush cause that's where they spend most of there time. Elk look like sheets of plywood and mule deer normal lay in the open but still in the shade.

All of my glassing gets done off a tripod.

Looked through some Zen-Rays for the first time a few weeks ago. All I can really say is go with Vortex.

I owned the primes (well I use the conquest hds and my wife used the primes) and we sold them and went with the vortex viper hds. Better glass in my opinion, but idk how much of that was due to the fact that I couldn't warm up to the eye pieces. If they are all you use for awhile and you hold them more against your eyebrows then your nose, you get used to them. But then you use another pair and its like "oh this is what it should feel like".

Very flat field of view and clear all the way to the edge tho.
