Went glassing for bears last weekend with a buddy and realized that my binoculars aren't up to snuff. I have Nikon monarch 10x42s that are probably 10 years old and my buddy had a new pair of redfield raider 10x42s and his binoculars were awesome compared to mine. So what I was looking at were the vortex viper HD or talon HD 10x42 and then I remembered the Zeiss Terra line. Was wondering what peoples thoughts were.

Just depends on your budget. I use the Nikon Monarchs also and really enjoy them. Yours must have seen better days. If I had to pick Id go with the Zeiss But Votex is a close 2nd behind.

The Zeiss is the cheaper of the three, weight is in the middle, fov is in the middle and they are the shortest of the 3. I haven't been able to get hands on the Zeiss I will probably check out the vortex tomorrow.

My Nikon's have been good but being out classed by a $130 pair of redfields then going back to the Nikon's and wanting to bring it into focus that much more and not being able to do it sucked.

I was down to zeiss or meopta and the deciding factor was the zeiss didn't have a tripod adaptor. So it's the meopta meotar HD's for me.
