I'm looking to get a Vortex bino adapter so I can put my binos on a tripod or shooting sticks for glassing. I've got a pair of Vortex Diamondback 10x50s and I was wondering if I can leave the bino adapter on while carrying them in my ACG harness or if the adapter will stick out too far for fit/comfort.

Is there a better/different adapter that would allow me to keep the adapter on while carrying them on my chest?

I doubt you will be able to leave it in. The outdoorsman bino adapter has quick release button to remove the adapter. I had the Vortex one until I came across the Outdoorsman one. Threw the Vortex in the trash after that. Such a pita

The Field Optics is probably the best value adapter out there. You can get it for $25.00 from some places, although it's definitely nice to support the site sponsors.

Yeah field optics or the outdoorsman stud routes are the way to go. The later is a little nicer/more stable but the field optics works fine as well, I have both.

Another using the unidapter on my 10x42s and it fits fine in my AGC. No play in the mount, my tripod tipped over from standing height with my binos on and they didn't come out of the mount.
