Big Calf...

Not much for elk hunting but after some 30 days of going after mule deer and still a freezer near empty I decided to go on a meat hunt. Had a great day and a lot of fun!!! Picked this calf out of about 30 elk as they fed across the hillside. He looked the most tasty. I hiked in about 4 miles so I didn't want to haul out a big cow.

Any elk is a great elk, bull or cow! The cows and small bulls usually eat better too! Nice job.

Aron, sounds like you have experience with young game....you have a special recipe as well...like marinating with fuzzy naval or something. Lol. Just messin with ya.

You can buy list B cow tags in addition to your bull tag in Colorado, so I shot a cow every year.
