Big Buck Killed in WI

Giant buck!

My buddy in central Iowa has been seeing the big boys shed already.

While I entirely agree that your rifle scope is not an observation device, I'm guessing the guy knew that it was a deer in/behind the bush at 50 yards, especially with that much snow on the ground. It was probably just bad wording and OL should have clarified with him or did a little editing.

How else can you tell if you know the guy if you don't zoom in on their face with your scope?

Ahh, got it. We never had that season when I still lived there, many moons ago.
I have been asking around if anyone else has heard of this particular rifle metro season that’s after the 9 day gun hunt where bucks are allowed to be shot. Only one person knew of it but couldn’t remember where they saw it published.

It’s listed on page 3 and 10 of the regulation book. Lists the “Metro Sub-Unit Gun” season as Nov 22 - Dec 10.

I admit I wasn’t familiar with it either. The metro units I knew about, but until I went looking after reading about this deer I didn’t know they also got an extended gun hunt.

Thanks!

I live in Wisconsin, what it pretty much comes down to is the metro units get to use rifles during our 10 day muzzleloader season. I live an hour/ hour 30 from 3 of those zones. Those areas are pretty much all private land areas so Ive never drove over there to hunt them. Ill stick with my 10 days of muzzy season and be glad we cant rifle hunt in my area for another 10 days.
