Best Folding Knife?

Following. I’ve got a lot of the same questions. Got my 1st benchmade last year (hidden canyon) and absolutely love it. Now looking to upgrade my EDC from a standard little pocket knife to something from their line.

Benchmade Mini-Barrage Axis Assist from Cabela's . It has the pocket clip oriented so the knife is ready to open right out of your pocket. No flipping it around. Not a big deal to some, but for me it is huge.

when I donate it to TSA, .

After parking at the airport lot for a very early flight I had to sprint back to the shuttle to put a new multi-tool (gift from my kids) back in my truck. On the shuttle ride back to the terminal a farm supply rep told me that 8 out of 10 flights he takes he drops his knife in the flower planter at the terminal door. It's always there when he returns. He said if I wouldn't take his, he won't take mine.

I can neither confirm nor deny the effectiveness of hiding weapons in discreet locations at airports. All I can say is I have never lost a knife by doing this.

I've hidden mine beneath a trashcan outside of security a time or two.

Kershaw Ken Onion gets my vote. Never a better pocket knife.
I'm carrying one now. Broke the tip of the blade off digging something out of drywall.

I ground a new tip on it and still carry it.

I refuse to spend more then $40 on an EDC knife because I lose or break them.

There are plenty of great $40 or less knives out there.

A tiny Swiss Army knife. Tweezers, scissors, and only weighs an ounce or two. Also carry a Stream light single AA light.

I used to have this philosophy until I found myself actually needing to use my knife on a regular basis. I had the K.O. Blur for years and really liked it (I also broke the tip off!). Then I started having a need to break down cardboard boxes on a regular basis and that knife would not hold up to that. I found myself having to give it serious attention every week or 2.

Now I'm using an S90V blade and it holds up to cardboard extremely well. I only need to sharpen it every other month rather than every other week.

I'm very anal about having my blades be shaving-sharp though so this may not apply to everyone.

I love the Benchmade Bugout. I don't have enough of a knife fetish to say what's "best," but I like the blade size, weight, and feel of the Bugout quite a bit. I'd say a guy can get comfortable with just about any decent little folder and be happy enough with it to recommend it. I thought CRKT knives were the cat's pajamas until I picked up the Benchmade, now they're all lost in a junk drawer.
