Best Folding Knife?

I used to have this philosophy until I found myself actually needing to use my knife on a regular basis. I had the K.O. Blur for years and really liked it (I also broke the tip off!). Then I started having a need to break down cardboard boxes on a regular basis and that knife would not hold up to that. I found myself having to give it serious attention every week or 2.

Now I'm using an S90V blade and it holds up to cardboard extremely well. I only need to sharpen it every other month rather than every other week.

I'm very anal about having my blades be shaving-sharp though so this may not apply to everyone.
WhichS90V folder do you carry?

If you’re willing to be patient and shop the auction sites a Spyderco Stretch cF in ZPD 189 is a nice knife. Thin, reasonably light and holds a good edge. Same with Tim Wegner Pro Hunter in S30v or the Spyderco Wegner (large). Nice working knives but not pry bars or screw drivers.

Got a bugout for fathers day and am really liking it so far - disappears in the pocket which is nice at work. Have other spydercos and a grizzly creek, but the bugout is very nice to carry all day for light duty tasks.

I carry a mini bugout. Perfect little pocket knife.

Try the flytanium g10 scales on it if you havent already. To me the mini bugout is almost TOO light. 35 bucks isnt bad for aftermarket g10 scales. Gives it just enough weight to balance it out and definitely more grip with the g10 texture. Already have the orange g10 scales in the mail for the other one.

Hunting, Ill take either a full size bugout or griptilian.

I really want to do a Gerber Custom Fastball with Cleaver blade, but I have lost more than my fair share of $100+ pocket knives. So the off chance that I lose a custom $200+ Gerber hurts my feelings a little too much to actually make myself do it. I have a few CRKT's, Kershaws, etc. I have some off-brand knife in my pocket right now that I got off of Amazon for $25 and it has been really nice and easy to sharpen and holds an edge alright.

Not sure I've read anyone even speak of a Wegner Pro Hunter in over 10 years. I bought one in.....maybe 2002?? TSA "relieved" me of it in my checked luggage. I asked Tim for any Scratch n Dent models....and he had one with some nasty scratches across the blade, which he sold me on the cheap. I since bought a second First Rate model to have a pair. Back when S30V was a "Premium".

They're not as flashy as they once were. But nice knives.

I almost ordered an Umnumzaan from Reeve last week and started the 12 month wait. I passed, telling myself I really didn't need a $475 knife. Bought a ZT 0562 CF. Like it.

But last night watched an 8 year old YT video of his shop tour by BladeHQ. WOW! The precision and tolerances that go into a CRK is amazing. Not a watch guy...but these have to be the Rolex of the knife world.

CRK tolerances are beyond compare in the knife world. I want another to go with the one I already have but it’s hard to date two women at once, especially if you really love the one you already have.
