Looking for opinions on cell trail cameras, looking for 3 to 5 cameras for coyote / predator patterning. Preferably those that run off Verizon or multi carriers. Preferably those that can with in the dark too. What do yall recomend?

I started running a cell cam last year, Tactacam Reveal X 3. Worked well for me, battery lasted all through deer season and was still showing full at end of season. Picked up some cheap Bushnell Cellucores to try out this year too, but I believe they have a known problem with their gasket leaking

I bought a few Moultrie Edge last season for bear hunting. Figured they were cheap so if they got chewed up I wouldn’t be out much. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of setup, picture quality, and battery life. My only qualm is the cost of monthly plans. I have Tactacam Reveals at my property in Kansas and they also work great.

I’ve been having good luck the last 3 year with the Tactacam reveals. I fought the new 3.0 last season, wasn’t sending photos like it should have.

I have tried pretty much all of them. Been running Tactacam’s on a big ranch here in TX for a few years but have to replace them all basically once a year if we leave them out.

I have some RECONYX that have done really well for 3-4 years under the same conditions as the Tactacam’s. They also work better than any other cell cam and take great pics. They’re just far more expensive.

The thought process behind using Tactacam’s and replacing them yearly was 1) that’s about all they will last if left out, which we do, 2) less initial cost (we run about 80 cameras) and 3) its doesn’t make you as irritated when a cow tears up a $150 camera vs. a $600 camera.

I don’t have long-term experience with Wise Eye but am trying them this year and if they hold up, I will start running them. I have a buddy with extensive cell cam usage and trust his opinion, which is they are the best bang for your buck. $200 and so far, they are great but need to see how long they last. I will probably transition into using these everywhere.

I run solar panels, hoods/covers and extended antennas mounted on top of a pole to help get better service.

I've enjoyed my tactacams, I have not had any issues. I am going to do the solar panels this year. I have heard that the oem panels and battery packs are the way to go. I was changing batteries once a month. I usually do still pics only with short delay.

Did you get it sorted out, that's the recommended cam so far
I had to send it in(customer service is pretty great) and they fixed it up and sent it back to me. I haven’t had to replace any of mine(6 of them) in the last 3-4 years yet and I leave them out from Sept-Dec here in Michigan.

I hated tactacams, being two hours away seemed like I was messing with cameras more than anything.

I went with wiseyes and the external batteries from herd360, two have been out over a year without issues, one just had a battery finally die the other day.

I bought 2 tactacam 3 pros w lithium cartridge and solar panel. Decent setup. Quick notification. Okay photos.

Have a stealth 360 v2 being delivered this week. Looking forward to testing that.

We've been piloting cameras for my 4-H Program for a few years now. We started with SpyPoint (non-cell), then StealthCam (customer service was non-existent), and now we have had Tactacam Reveals for a couple of years. We've been pretty happy with the Tactacams. Easy for my kids to setup and run. I do wish it was easier to have multiple viewers on the app so the kids could look at the cams, but the app is pretty good outside of that. We have the Reveal X and Reveal X Pro.

I was hoping to get some Spartan Cams to try out, but haven't had any luck with working a deal with them to try. They seemed really interested in working with us at the SHOT show, but have since kind of fallen off.

Run multiple Tactacams no issues. Buddies come out for late season whitetails and we will have 15 out or so...really no issues. I've left them out year round even had one buried in snow from December -March as soon as the sensor got above the snow it started taking pictures. Have a bunch of pictures of pheasant, sharptail, and Coyote feet walking across the drift right in front of the camera.

OP asked "Best Cell Trail Cameras"

Tactacam Reveals are decent value but calling them the best is a stretch. They’re great for the budget-conscious hunters who want to get in the game for not a lot of money, but they’re not the most advanced in image quality or battery life. If you actually want the best look at Reconyx or Spartan they have much better durability, faster trigger speeds, and superior night images. It all depends on what you prioritize: affordability or premium features.

Tactacam Trail Cameras are the Vortex Scopes in the trail camera world; they both call themselves premium without actually competing with the true high end players. They both rely on strong branding, influencer partnerships to build their cult like following and both tactacam & vortex are proof that strong marketing can make "good enough" feel like "best in class"

Update us after testing. Was going to pull the trigger on one but heard the battery life isn’t the best.

I ordered the lithium cartridge and solar panel - private property…

Should be putting it out in 10 days or so. If everything comes in.

I have three moultries up here in nevada and love them. This is my third year using them and they work great. Two of the three have weak signal and they just keep sending me pictures

My dad started using browning trail cameras last year and was getting pictures of hawks flying by, completely in frame. I have since pivoted towards them as well. I bought one of their cell cams and so far it has performed flawlessly. Their customer service is incredible too. I had some questions about my cell cam and they answered every question. I don’t think there are many (if any) with a quicker trigger speed (.135 seconds) compared to .40-.70 on most others. They’re super easy to set up and take incredible pictures.
