Just received my custom rifle and took it apart and noticed this (crack maybe) wondering if yall think this is a problem or shot and see type of thing? It’s in a manners MCS-CS2. Asked the GS too but would like other’s opinion.

Sure looks like a crack that maybe originated when the pillar was pressed in? Like maybe the hole was a tad bit undersized and they were trying for a press fit rather than epoxy it in. Don't know the process of installing pillars.

Definitely a Crack. Id call or email manners and see what they say.

I will.

I couldn’t get the bolt out either. It’s a switch bbl on a Zeus and had to dremel 1/2” to bolt out…
I dealt with a similar situation once. The gunsmith eventually went to prison for the worst crime imaginable, and I ended up having GA Precision fix all his bs.

Manners doesn't typically install the pillars. They do send them with the stock and they aren't tight enough to do that. It's as if someone put a different pillar in that stock and tried to press fit it. As someone said above, those should be epoxyed in and enough room around the pillar it would fall out if not glued.

You can call Manners and see what they say but I'd bet this is on the guy who installed the pillars.

Good luck, stuff like this sucks!
