I'm looking for a 0* down bag for my sister. She is a cold sleeper and would fit in a short bag. I've shopped feathered friends and western mountaineering, they seem to be top tier, but I'm unsure if she would get enough use out of it to justify the cost. Any help from the bag geniuses would be greatly appreciated.

Check out Outdoor Vitals. I’ve got a bunch of their hammock gear, two bags, one synthetic and one down. I love all of it.

I don’t think you can beat this deal. I have a few of their bags and really like them considering what I paid.

What is your time frame for making a purchase? Provided you have enough time, it's possible to find a used WM or FF bag in the classifieds for a price that fits your budget.

I've been lightly looking for both brands for several months now, seems that most people dont sell their WM or FF bags, hahahahahaha.

Just ordered. You were right. Couldn't pass that up.

Cool glad to help, I have one of their old 0 bags that I’ve used in the teens plenty of times with no problems. Both my kids have their synthetic 15 bags that have kept them warm in the winter.

You can get a -10 Ultralight Western Mountaineering on HermetsHut.com today for $485. 1 pound 12 oz and will last a lifetime. She can sell it anytime for nearly that price. Buy once, cry once.

I've used a hyke and byke Eolus in single digit temps the last two seasons and been very happy with it for the price. under $200 on amazon. But I've never owned a higher end brand so can't compare.

I looked at the Hermitshut.com site and I really don't believe that's a -10 degree bag. It would take a lot of extra down to take it from 20 to -10.
