I've searched around and haven't found much info on this bullet. Wanting to get some real world feedback of accuracy and terminal performance at ranges 800 and under. Also, what cartridge you run it in? Looking to try it out in a 280 AI that will be used for Elk and Mule Deer. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

It’s the bullet that I use in my 280ai. It’s extremely accurate and I’ve had great terminal results. 2 deer and 1 elk and have had no concerns whatsoever. Speed out of a 24” barrel is just shy of 2900.

That's good to hear. What ranges were your kills at? Also, what powder are you using?

I’m going completely off memory so forgive me if I’m wrong but I think I’m loading 59.5 grains of H1000.

Ranges have been 125, 240, 490. So not out to 800 yet, but I wouldn’t hesitate with that bullet.

Thank you for the feedback sir. I'm more concerned with the closer range stuff like blowing through shoulders at sub 250 yards, but they seem like a fairly tough bullet. I'm sure they will preform excellent from 500-800.

I shot them into wet newspaper bundle at 100 yards to compare them to 175 long range accubond and they discinigrated . The Nosler mushroomed nice and gots lots of penetration. I wouldn't use them for close range on elk.

What impact velocity do you think it had?

I haven’t shot any game with these yet, but am currently working up a load in my 7RM. I’m getting MVs between 2950-2975 and so far they’re shooting sub MOA.

I wouldn’t hesitate to use these out to 800 yards, given my experience with the 140 EH in my 6.5PRC out to 700 yards.

I shot them in a short barrel 7 SAUM for a few years. Muzzle velocity around 2830. Killed an antelope, bull elk, and a mule deer. Furthest was the bull at 460 yards. All 1 shot kills and typical berger performance - small entrance and a softball sized exit.

Shooting the 175 out of a 7mm Rem Mag at 3020 FPS. 350 yards made contact with a mule deer shoulder shot and recovered bullet lodged in spine, that was around 50% by weight retained. Dropped right away.

100 yards, Shot an aoudad at back of shoulder area and went through both lungs. Sheep ran 40 yards and died. I did not do an internal evaluation but small hole going in and small hole coming out.

I've shot 3 whitetail does this past season with them in a 7 saum doing about 2850. All were right at 100 yards and shot through front shoulders. All fell where they were. All were complete pass through with internals turned into jello. Meat damage was not any worse than any other cup and core bullet.
