I handled one at the store and tried to like it. I love Benelli shotguns but the safety mechanism and just overall build quality felt cheap to me for the price point.

I looked forward to trying one out... like you, I love Benelli shotguns. But it seemed pretty chintzy for a gun at that price point. It did have some interesting features, but it ended up being too much squeeze for the juice.

I have one and I love it. It’s in .300 WM and is a about a 3/8” at 100 with Federal Terminal Ascent 200gr.I don’t have the same opinion about it feeing cheap.

It’s different I suppose but doesn’t seem cheap fondling it. Just was curious if people who have shot them think the recoil reduction actually works and if they shoot good?

I'm curious about the recoil reduction as well. I love my Benelli shotgun and have thought really hard about picking up one of these rifles at some point. It would be great to get someone to write a bit more of a review about their experiences with one.

I have one, and it's amazing. It feels like shooting a .22LR. The recoil mechanism works very well and I wouldn't sell it for anything else. I had 6-7 rifles in .270 from Weatherby, Howa, Tikka, Sakoe, etc before this one and I like this one the most. Mine is black but now I've seen it in camo versions too.

Keeping an old thread alive here. Found a display model for 1k at Cabelas; I refused it at the counter, it just didn't wow me (I was comparing it to my Franchi Momentum Elite). Looks like dealers might be trying to dump these (at least the gen 1 without the BEST coating). Just got one on an auction site for 830. though after taxes and fees it was pushed up over 9... Feels like there is some value there, I like the "mini chassis" approach and for that price I am willing to give it a whirl.

I bought one of the display models from Cabelas in 6.5 PRC. I adore this rifle. I have a handful of rifles including a couple Tikkas, Franchi Momentum Elite and Browning X bolt. This quickly became my favorite. Its unique ergonomics and recoil system is legit. So comfortable to handle and shoots more like a 6.5 creedmore than PRC as far as felt recoil. Best of all it’s shooting one hole or close to one hole groups at 100 yards with multiple factory ammo’s I’ve tested. I went through a few to land on Hornady Hunter Precisions and Barnes LRX as the most accurate for my rifle. Both of those were shooting the one hole groups pretty consistently when i would let the barrel cool. I was sad that the Federal Terminal Ascents weren’t at the top, but they were still right at 1MOA. Love them for an elk bullet when a rifle shoots them well like my Tikka 30-06. Anyway, if you see one of these 1k and below I would grab it if the non-traditional design doesn’t freak you out too much.
Mine is a tackdriver too. 2nd the Hunter Precisions and the ELD Match, though it doesn't mind the venari 129s (1 moa) and I was surprised at how well it does with the Win Match stuff.

Side note, is your ejected brass hitting the receiver? Hard enough to leave marks? I suppose I can eject with less vigor or catch the brass, but I would think the engineers would catch this.

Good to know about the Vineri and Win match ammo. I’ll give them a try. I have noticed the same with the ejected brass. I just started being more gentle on my pull back but agree it should have been caught when they were designing
I tired 8... here is the brand and the groups... fed fusion (bad) 2.5, win match sub 1, vearis 1, precision hunter sub 1, eld sub 1, sig elite pretty stinky around 2 and a surprising budget option sellier and bellot (soft points around 2, tactical at 1.5). They will all kill pigs and deer, but I am headed out for audad so wanted something pretty good for extended ranges.

When I first saw the original black synthetic stock I thought it was one ugliest rifles and didn't do anything research on it.
When the wood and camouflage version came out I was completely interested.
The rifle is actually built on a chassis system. They have a really effective recoil pad that can be adjusted to be longer or shorter. It has 36! Different shims to adjust rear stock and even the cant of the back stock as well as adjust trigger distance.
I don't know of a single rifle in the price range with so many adjustments. Also the Best barrel finish that's guaranteed for over 20 years and is probably the best coating ever.
If you found the original ugly, check out the BE.S.T coatings and adjustments on the be.s.t camouflage and the wooden rifle version.
