Benelli/Franchi “Click”?

When I got my stoeger m3500 first thing I was told to do was go skeet shoot with 1 1/4 duck loads and work in some cheap turkey or duck 3.5 magnums to break in the inertia spring.

The 3500 comes with a 'recoil reducer' lug in the stock, it will absorb a good bit and not cycle 2 3/4 7/8oz loads, 1oz seems to be no problem. Take the recoil reducer out and it cycles all flawlessly. It's my duck gun that just wont die. Had it 10 years and want to upgrade to a Benelli but only when this one quits.

Neve had that issue with my super Vinci. ~ 800 rounds (I know not much for a shotgun) through it, some hunting loads for ducks but probably 600/800 were just cheap skeet/trap ammo for….trap and skeet.

I sort of want to move on from the super Vinci and get an SBE3.

I always wanted a super vinci, shame they stopped making that model. Why do you want the change?
I'm picking up an M2 after the first of the year.

As others have said (several times), you have to let the bolt slam forward. If you "quietly" let it go forward, you will experience the clicks. It's similar to riding the slide forward on a pistol when loading it. You are supposed to "rack it"- pull it sharply and let it go to chamber the top round in the magazine.
Proof of this is when you shoot the shotgun, have you ever had the "click" on the round that just chambered after firing the first? If not, then you know the loading of the chamber process is where the problem is- Operator error. If it clicks on the second round, then you have to look further and clean the bolt, lube it, etc.

I just want to switch because the make that sbe3 with that best coating. I live and hunt near the coast so corrosion resistance is important to me.

For those that haven't read the string...I allow the bolt to fully ride "home" lifting a shell of the lifter EVERY time. That is NOT the issue. There is not requirement to be quiet when departing the truck on the prairie for birds.

@sndmn11

It did. I shot 2 rounds of trap with it yesterday. I am TERRIBLE, hence the purchase of a 2026 club membership.

But I DID CRUSH quite a few clays with it. Only 50 rounds, but I pretty much  this gun.

But it was not without issue.

MHB has been answering a few of my questions offline. Stated the Cynergy line of shotguns do not function with Cheddite primers. Fiocchi is assembled with Cheddite?

I bought a flat of 20 and a flat of 12 prior to getting this information. I had issues getting ammo to fire in both my 12 and 20 Cynergy's. More so with the new 20. Issues with Top Gun Federals not going off too.

Seems I cannot find happy....

Has it been out long enough to see real world corrosion resistance? I hunt the salt marshes of NJ.

The stoeger m3500 I got 10 years would get so badly rusted after each trip, I sand blasted most of it and repainted and covered in epoxy clear.

Has the Benelli sbe3 with BE.S.T coating been out long enough? Yeah it’s not new, I know they have that new Ai model out but the one with the saltwater coating on it has been out several years now.

Apparently many of the super Vinci came with the same coating but it wasn’t really advertised, just part of the package. I don’t know if mine is though.

AS the OP....circling all the way back. My "solution" to the Franchi "Click" was to buy a new gun. I bought and took possession of a Browning Cynergy CX in 20 with 30" tubes.

What was probably my last outing of 2026.....ended with an f'ing CLICK on some very nicely pointed Chukar.

Sooooo GD mad. All simply from being told I was a Savage hunting birds with a 12 and it wasn't Sporting.

$2600 in non functioning Shotguns this season for me.

The Cynergy failed to fire many times on the Trap range. I think it's bottom barrel mostly. Was told Fiocchi are junk after buying a case or more. So I tried Top Gun Federals. Got some non existent primer strikes and fail to fires. Had a case of Kent FastLead for hunting. Had a fail to fire. So I bought a box of Winchester Super X off the shelf. And my last opportunity for 2026 was a whiff.......

Calling Browning for a return box in the near future. It really shouldn't be this hard

That sucks! I bought a used cynergy field on here about two years ago, same time as the affinity, thinking I'd use it and @KickinNDishin would use the semi. She likes the cynergy. We've had zero problems with it and it's been hunted with golden pheasant loads. (Which suck for other reasons)

I still intend to buy one and am surprised you have had trouble or that theirs a negative cynergy reputation.

Yea....you was asking me about it. Handles really well. Glad I wasn't put off by the 30" tubes.

Really want to like it. Sure it's curable. Just a downer "mid season".

If weather holds I will shoot a few rounds of Trap over the weekend and pay attention to which barrel etc. In the field and in the "heat of battle" I'm a bit too tunnel visioned to look at the issue...I am trying to resolve things, not diagnose things.
