Hey, I know your kicking ass on S2H scope evaluations right now, but when you have a second, can you expand on why the 6 CM would beat out the 6 Dasher or 6 GT? Thinking specifically of a gun for hunting with a barrel under 20” to run a suppressor. While the 6 cm can push a bullet slightly faster when you load all cartridges to max pressure, it seems like the decreased barrel life and slightly higher recoil would negate the benefits and lead to a similar hit rate as the other two cartridges at typical hunting ranges.

Will a 6 dasher or GT reliably feed in a tikka? Will they fit well in tikka mags?

I am not form, or even close to him in experience, but a lot of the allure that the 6CM has over most of all the other cartridges listed in the initial query, as well as what you have listed is the factory ammunition offerings. If you hand load, the difference between the cartridges become much more blurred / closer. Especially if you were comparing factory 6CM vs handloaded 6 Dasher / 6GT the gap is small if not gone.

Personally, with factory ammunition, I’m getting about 2850 from a 6CM (21” barrel). I’ve heard of a few guys getting that same from the Dasher/GT.

Again, please know this is just my thoughts. Form will probably have much better experience and insight.

Better feeding, easier feeding, factory ammo, available components.

That’s about it.

Sorry, guess I assumed everyone actually wanted to use an action that functions 100% of the time

How many times have your non tikkas failed to ignite a cartridge? Follow the leaders, praise the Tikkas, I get how it works here. I have tikkas, but have shot 20X more rounds through my non tikas, and guess what? Not a single failure on any them, nor the tikkas. But I'm sure my day will come........

My remage clone failed to cycle a live round about 3-5% of the time when I shot PRS. This often lead to trying to fit two cartridges into the chamber when I would pull the bolt back and try to load again

Not sure why you got your panties in a wad. If you like the performance of your rifles, keep on keeping on

You’ve been here for 7 years and over 3k posts. You should know by now that this is a tikka pro forum. Same reason guys like F-150s on Ford forum

All good, get a ctr for prs! Hopefully it'll feed better. Usually you vet that stuff out prior to a match, especially feeding issues, but sometimes shit happens.

They do actually have a Tikka forum.

If you don’t reload it’s an easy choice. 6cm. If you do buy a factory tikka 243 1-8 and you have the same thing, just a bit cheaper
