Hey, I know your kicking ass on S2H scope evaluations right now, but when you have a second, can you expand on why the 6 CM would beat out the 6 Dasher or 6 GT? Thinking specifically of a gun for hunting with a barrel under 20” to run a suppressor. While the 6 cm can push a bullet slightly faster when you load all cartridges to max pressure, it seems like the decreased barrel life and slightly higher recoil would negate the benefits and lead to a similar hit rate as the other two cartridges at typical hunting ranges.

Will a 6 dasher or GT reliably feed in a tikka? Will they fit well in tikka mags?

I am not form, or even close to him in experience, but a lot of the allure that the 6CM has over most of all the other cartridges listed in the initial query, as well as what you have listed is the factory ammunition offerings. If you hand load, the difference between the cartridges become much more blurred / closer. Especially if you were comparing factory 6CM vs handloaded 6 Dasher / 6GT the gap is small if not gone.

Personally, with factory ammunition, I’m getting about 2850 from a 6CM (21” barrel). I’ve heard of a few guys getting that same from the Dasher/GT.

Again, please know this is just my thoughts. Form will probably have much better experience and insight.

Better feeding, easier feeding, factory ammo, available components.

That’s about it.
