Anyone going to this event this year?

I want to but we have some foals due then. I have friend's that are going to walk with Caleb Brewer who is a double amputee. This will be his second time doing it.

Good for you. I had a customer named Charlie James from Carlsbad NM as a customer for many years.
He told us lots of stories about how they survived during it. He was a great man

Got home yesterday from the event an it was an impressive time to say the least. The event itself was impressive and atmosphere was electric.

Due to the higher than normal temps and limited medical resources, the decision was made to shorten the course to 15.6 miles for everyone.

We got to WSMR on Friday afternoon to pick up our race packets and it was a warm on. Saturday we got to our starting position at 0600 and the opening ceremonies were at 0630, stepping off at 0700.

I was able to get the course completed before noon. I was in the heavy civilian division. It required a 35lb pack, I ended up carrying 45lbs. I finished the course in 4:23 and got a free beer and a pulled pork sandwich.

Had a fantastic Mexican dinner and slept like a rock. Enjoyed the drive home the next day.

Definitely going back.
