Trijicon accupoint 1-6 x 24

Why do you say that?
Because at 6x with a 28 (or whatever) mm objective, the exit pupil is only 4.x, so it’s just not capable of letting in as much light, therefore it has limited performance in very dark conditions with the magnification turned all the way up. From a fixed position (a stand or blind) the extra field of view is less important to me because animals are generally moving slowly and often a bit further away compared to how I mainly hunt with this scope. Its not that this scope cant do it, at 3-4x its plenty bright, its just that if that was my main use-case I would be more OK giving up some field of view in order to get a brighter image while being +magnified a little more right at first and last light. No scope is perfect, its just a different ranking of priorities around what I want in a scope for different uses.

Just bought one of these for a DG rifle. How’s the eye relief? Trij states 3.9” but how is it in practice? On a 375HH, it’s an important specification for me.

Sorry if I didn't make that clear. There is plenty of eye relief, and very forgiving as well. I think it’s fair to say its consensus that it’s one of the best traits of this scope, and certainly thats my impression. But you just bought one, let us know when you get it set up!

…Eyebox is really great, id say its noticeably better than my 3-9 credo, more forgiving and a bit longer, more like the eyebox on the Leupold VX scopes I’ve owned in the past.

…Good eyebox, very useable in general…

…Every time I look through it I ask myself why I don't put one on every rifle I own.

…Still LOVE the eyebox…

My brother had an Accupoint 1x4x24 with the post/triangle (red) laying around and he gave it to me. I mounted it on a wood stocked Savage 6.5 Creedmoor that I found in the back of my gun safe and may have never even shot (been there for probably 10 years). I picked that rifle up at a gun show on a whim, as I recall. Well, I sighted it in with the 1x4x24 and then used the tip of the triangle to shoot a group at 100 yards. Humm, three shot group measured 3/4 of an inch. Boy was I surprised. Should be a nice walk around rifle here on the ranch. I ordered a new Accupoint 1x6x24 with a post/triangle (green) because I was impressed with the 1x4. Not sure which rifle I will put it on but I will figure that out.
