Love free welfare? What logic are you using to make that assumption for me not supporting censorship of speech? Childish? Lol

You used socialistic communism to describe this thread topic which is a little bit of a stretch, just a little lol. No I don’t believe giving advice on hunting is the same as welfare/free hand outs, just making a point on your level.

This thread is sad, can’t have a rational legit coversation without getting worked up. Glad a new mod is acting neutral and being considerate unlike one of his predecessors.

I am part of the “I am tired of someone always having an opinion about what other people do” crowd. Somewhere along the journey this country forgot about the fact that it was founded on personal freedom.

Live free. You do your life and I will do mine. If you don’t like what I am doing tough crap.

This should apply to this thread. I’ve been hunting a unit in AZ during the Jan OTC season, because of social media it’s getting hit hard. Never thought of banning free speech because of it. One issue is irritating, the other will result in the enslavement of our people. Priorities people.

The whole idea of banning unit numbers sounds quite petty, peevish, and a little paranoid to me. So much changes year to year in every spot with weather, forage, moisture, predators, wildfires, tag allocations, game management, mountain bikes, hippies, BOAL thieves, etc. It is hunting after all...

I drew a third season mule deer tag in CO last year with 6 points in a unit I'd never hunted. I made several scouting trips out over the summer but not much of that intel was very useful for where the deer would be in November.

I started a thread on the unit and a member who used to live in the unit was generous enough to PM me and spend time with me answering questions over a phone call. He helped me be successful on my hunt and really narrow down the areas in the unit to focus on.

I wouldn't have been able to find this member without asking about the unit. Maybe I ruined the unit by asking about it and it will take 20 points to draw this year, but for me it was helpful to be able to ask about the unit number.

I spent some time going through a few species forums and didn’t find any real info being shared. Lots of internet search hits bringing people in and asking for advice, several offering pm’s. While it’s annoying for people to not contribute and just look for free info it’s not harming anything. It does bring traffic to the site.

There was one exception a couple days ago where two new members were exchanging way too specific info, it was reported and deleted. I think this is the best way going forward to use the report button when you see a problem. The members here do a great job with reports, and it’s appreciated!
