In my experience location fees are based on the number of people in the group that is conducting the filming activities. NPS in some of Alaska as an example also require liability insurance. This along with the administrative hassle lead to the bootleg productions.

Why should we?

Mentorship, btw. Far better than what they would most likely see anyway
Because bringing more people into the sport would garner more public support.

Look, I was born in a Caribbean country to Caribbean parents who new nothing about hunting. I didn't grow up in an area where hunters were common, all I did was fish and harass alligators.
If it weren't for Cabelas Big Game hunter on my PS2 and the hunting public I would have NEVER been exposed to hunting. Hunting vids are a NET positive to hunting culture. Not everyone is has the chance to have grown up in a hunt oriented house. This is why would cringe when I see hunters against what some would call 'diversity and inclusion'. Bro take that little jamacan kid and his dad on a hunt with you and you'll see hunting widely suported in more urban areas.

No. Just no.

Not putting stupid crap on the internet will help more with public support.

Again, hunters are less than 5% of the country. Even if we could QUADRUPLE our numbers, it wouldn’t count at the ballot box. And you’d have nowhere to hunt (we already have that problem now, imagine!)

Know who does have a huge majority? All the people who don’t hunt, but might see a stupid video go viral.

There is this pesky thing called for 1st Amendment. Like it or not, filming is covered.

I don’t like commercializing hunting/wildlife any more than the next guy, but the bill of rights takes priority.
That's an interesting take on it....but the OP kinda threw this out here without citing any statute and others have chimed in with other reference.....they arent banning anything, they are enforcing getting a permit if you are filming for commercial interests

You’re the one who wanted more interest to keep “hunting from shooting down altogether”

My point was that EVEN IF we doubled, it wouldn’t matter at the ballot box
Never under estimate a vote....and we can all educate our friends, family and coworkers who don't hunt

Just remember, every time we point, click, share or watch, we increase the algorithm....we are the algorithm. whether its our Google searches, our YouTube views or the pop ups on Rokslide that advertises to us.....

You think we're more likely to get support from nonhunters by suppressing hunting content?

I'd bet ddd is referring to the many content producers that have been convicted of poaching, and content producers with very very questionable and unethical content (many being the same people in both cases.

Have any evidence to support that statement?
My barber (who is generally pretty well informed/exposed to the world around him) was pretty surprised and confused that fly fishing films are a thing.

"You gonna tell me that people watch videos of other people hunting too? No offense, but that just sounds dumb."

How will people who know nothing of hunting get exposed to it ?

He's well aware of hunting...

Not hunting videos though.

I talk to non hunters about hunting on a very regular basis. Explained how units and draws work in the west to one the other day.
