Backcountry guilty pleasure

I'm going to find a way to carry my raw honey with me this year, regardless of the weight. I eat a lot of it throughout the day for energy and it makes me happy!
Honey for sure, last year I packed a little 3oz squeeze bottle full and it was worth its weight in gold. Quick pick me up when you need it and it goes with almost anything.

If going through town I will load up on fast food like burgers/burritos - it tastes way better on the mountain after a long hike!

I also carry a can of coffee like Starbucks double shot every day for an afternoon pick me up.

I plan for a can of dip a day.i don't bring any booze because 1 is not enough and 18 is too many to carry. That being said I live like a viking so deer camp isn't really that much different than regular life for me.

This isn’t a guilty pleasure but from what i’ve read most consider this “overkill” for any type of backpacking or backcountry activity in the US. This deal is hard to pass up though as the reviews are pretty awesome. BOCO (Buy Once Cry Once lol)

Gushers

The only time I buy them annually is to go in my meal bags for backcountry hunts.

On a more boring note, I bring a Klymit Static V lux pad. Its heavy by today's standards but good nights sleep is easier to come by now.

I know this is a given, but chapstick always goes with me. Especially in the high country the wind can be a killer
Yes first time antelope hunting a few years back second day in told my hunting partner tonight we go to town for chapstick all I could find was cherry flavored but it worked now there is a lest three chapsticks along one in my pack first aid kit one in my pocket and one at camp, my buddy said he wanted some as his lips and nose holes were kinda crusty but didn’t want to use the cherry I told him I sure as hell wasn’t kissing him and doubted if the goats would find him attractive either. So he gave in for the cherry flavored turned out the antelope must of liked it the next day before noon we both had nice goats on the ground.

Beer.

Hike in a few miles, set up camp. Hunt for the day. Empty pack other than essentials to keep me alive, run back down to the truck in the dark and bring a case or two of beer and a few slim Jim’s back. Repeat resupply every few days as necessary.

Bro, that’s not a guilty pleasure, that’s an addiction

Hahahaha my doctor may agree. Kidding.

There’s just something about those mountains that are blue from bobbing up and down in a n icy cold mountain stream for a couple of hours after a hard day chasing elk with bow in hand and sleeping under a tarp.

Easy cheese and Chicken n a Biscuit crackers! When the crackers run out the cheese is good on everything, trust me!

I’m the same way with jolly joes. They are tbe purple box mike and Ike’s. I used to buy a box for shed hunting, hiking, any other backpacking trip. Didn’t eat them outside of that. Hard to find out here so I bought 25 boxes at sportsman’s. They taste like hell after 6 months on a shelf.

And finding the right sleeping pad is where it’s at. I’d gladly sacrifice weight elsewhere
