Going to put this here to keep myself a bit on track and keep myself responsible.
Was on Carnivore last summer planning for a trip hunting and had some issues happen at home and fell off of it.
Started then at 232 and got down to 215 in 2 months.
Starting today at 226.
Will see where I end up at.
Have a target weight of 190.

Almost a month in, how you doing?
I started carnivore last month as well. feel significantly better, been battling a couple disc herniations at l4/l5 and l5/s1, really helping to control the inflammation.

I'm on day 35 and down 17# of a 20# goal. I found it easy minus the explosive diarea. I've found workouts pretty difficult but overall I feel great with consistent energy all day.

Weird to see this. I also have herniated L4/L5 & L5/S1 and you're correct. The lack of inflammation really helped me. While on the carnivore diet my back pain decreased substantially and I got some range of motion back and I was able to capitalize it and tighten up my core. I'm able to do more and longer core exercises now even though I'm carnivore "lite"

Diarrhea was bad for me the first time I did the diet. I had it for a solid (no pun) 2 weeks. It was very discouraging.
The 2nd & 3rd time I did the diet I didn't have diarrhea at all which was a huge plus.
I've found workouts pretty difficult but overall I feel great
Do you supplement at all? I found that that helps an eye opening amount.
Daily I take
Vitamin C 1000mg
Krill oil 1000mg
Vitamin B complex
D3+K2 w/ coconut oil (10000iu & 200mcg)
All above are Deal Supplements on Amazon

On gym/workout days I include (all from Optimum Nutrition)
Micronized creatine 2.5g
BCAA 1000mg
Glutamine 1g

On rest days I take half a serving of each. Half a serving is 1 pill each

I'll jump on the train, officially it's just keto but I don't really care to eat anything but meat so most days it's just carnivore so I may as well look into it and follow the protocol. I tore up my knee last month and haven't been to the doctor yet but it's still bad, figure dropping 30 lbs would be good for it either way before I get to next hunting season. I'm 219 now, 185 would be a healthy weight for me after losing a bit of muscle being lazy the last couple years.

I've been trying to capitalize, had some steroid shots a few weeks ago. Going back for another round of shots in the next couple weeks. Most likely gonna have to get a partial disectomy to get back fully mobile.

This summer I did a micro discectomy w/ laminotomy on l4/l5 and 24 years ago a discectomy on l5/s1 w/ laminectomy. Glad I did each of them. I dropped 25lbs after the most recent surgery and was able to build some muscle back in key areas. I hope your path works out for you as well.

Glad to hear it! The thought of any back surgery honestly scares the crap out of me, but I cant keep on with the constant pain and lack of activity. I've ballooned up over the past 16 months I've dealt with it. 30# gone now, long ways to go.

Wife and I decided to go carnivore for the month of February. Hasn’t been too bad so far, although I did make a blueberry pie for my 4yo’s bday today which wasn’t easy to pass on.

No explosive diarrhea so I guess I’m doing alright.

When I think of carnivore I think meat and eggs which is what I’ve been doing, although I’ve been hearing many people also include dairy. Do most of you guys include dairy products in your carnivore diets? Just curious.

Any animal product is 👍 on carnivore. Raw milk, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, natural butter, cottage cheese and yogurts. Just stay away from the processed garbage like american cheese, flavored yogurts and anything with added sugar
Don't forget about seafood. I believe all seafood is ok

YouTube is your friend when it comes to recipes. I personally do dairy in moderation. Fwiw I've done a more general low carb diet in the past years with just as much success but I do find the limited diet of Carnivore easier.
