Shot at Mormon lake for years plenty hitting at a hundred. Club we shot at had shooters consistant at a hundred all day long. Not arguing just a fact. I don't agree with it at all as I said before. I remember the days you had to learn how to shoot a bow. The bows and accesories today make it much easier. One of Mormon's smokers was a giant quail at over a hundred with nock embedded in it. hit the nock or closest to it you won a pair of Swaro's. We can go on all day about vertical bows and crossbows, but it looks like we are in agreement about this decision.Just because people are throwing hail Mary shots at 100 yards doesn't mean they can hit anything.
I don't remember a single person in all the years of the Cold Bow Challenge choosing 100 as their distance, much less actually hitting it.
Now I did shoot next to some slob with a brand new Raven stacking shots in an 8" paper plate at 60 yards the day he bought it. Guarantee if he was capable of that I'm days away from doing the same at 100.
False, crossbows use bolts period.False. Old terminology.
So it doesn’t use energy stored in drawn back limbs and transferred via string to propel a shaft that rotates due to fletching and tipped with a cutting edge to take game? This does nothing to divide the archery community- xbows aren't part of the archery community in the first place. Crossbows aren't bows. Not sure why that's difficult for some people to understand.
Dude, tone it down.Thank you for proving my point about archery hunters being a bunch of narcissistic douchebags.
I think it’s more that too many people took advantage and ruined it for the few who should have had it. There are a lot of entitled self centered people out there that don’t care, which creates changes in the rules because people are incapable of policing themselves… can’t be mad at the state for thatSo anyone that had a legit issue. Perhaps cannot shoot a mzl ldr die to that issue - is now SOL?
You guys really put a lot of restrictions and requirements in order to enjoy the sport.
hope you never get injured - might have to quit hunting under that kinda scrutiny.
You won’t be dying aloneI agree. There is no comparison between even the best technology in compound bows and crossbows. One takes true SKILL and EFFORT to shoot at a proficient level. One takes no effort and should only be used during any archery specific season by anyone with a truly legitimate disability. I’ll die on that hill.

Sounds like you are the one that has difficulty understanding that crossbows are in fact archery equipment. Or more likely you do know but don’t like the added completion that including them brings so you bitch and moan about them “not being archery equipment”.
Thank you for proving my point about archery hunters being a bunch of narcissistic douchebags.
From an ethical perspective of cleanly and efficiently killing game with the highest degree of repeatability it is incredibly difficult to make any argument in favor of any archery equipment at all. We just all kind of accept it’s pretty significant failures for the personal benefit of increasing season lengths and tag allocations. Why stop at crossbows? By that logic rifles are the only ethical choice since the wounding effects they create aren’t limited to the 1-2 inch diameter cutting surface of a broadhead
Definitely not going to argue that point, I’ve met a number of douchebag rifle hunters as well that take poor shots at game, empty their rifle to see what they hit, consider marginally hitting a paper plate at 50 yards “good enough for minute of deer” and plenty of other things that leave me completely baffled as to how they could ever think that is an ethical way to hunt.Dude, tone it down.
I’m an archery guy and I don’t think you’re making invalid points, but there are douchebags in any every aspect of hunting.
There is a 250 plus page thread here about the effectiveness of 22 cal bullets on big game animals. I have an extremely hard time believing that one could not build a .223 which a load that is capable of killing out to 250 yards and that someone that is disabled couldn't shoot that but said person could shoot a crossbow. You would even have double the range of a crossbow.Ever think that someone shoulder damage is so bad that they cannot shoot a rifle much less a bow.
Labeled? looks like you already are
