AZ Residency for Military Dependents

Does anyone know the answer to this? I am active duty stationed in Texas, but my wife and I are both AZ residents. AZ allows active duty military (and spouses) to live out of state and claim AZ residency as long as their home of record/taxes is Arizona, which it is for both of us. My son is turning 10 and I want to take him home to AZ to hunt this year and put him in the draw for tags. I've read all the AZ residency requirements, and it is silent on dependents (besides spouses). I can't be the first guy to have come across this issue, so I am surprised that it isn't addressed in the regs. It makes sense that my son can "share" my residency status, just like my wife does, but I can't find any reference to it. I'm going to call them on Monday, but it would be good to know if someone has cracked this nut already in case they say "no" right off the bat. Thanks.

Look at it this way.......if you were stationed overseas, what state would your son be a resident of?

We were stationed in 3 states and two other countries with our kids and they've always been CO residents, even though two of them weren't born here.

Well, that was disappointing. AZGFD says he is a nonresident. It makes no sense, but the CS and CS supervisor gave the same answer. I wrote a letter to the game and fish commission, but even if they approve it (which is unlikely since they deny most things), it won’t help my son for this year.
